One owner. Good history. Aprox 7,000 total miles since 2/04. Well optioned, say 4K over base. 65K, or less? I may take the plunge.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Here's the Canadian perspective, the 65k translate into roughly 75k CAD$. These cars in Canada were listed (i think) close to 140k CAD$ when they first came out. I bought mine at the end of october 2004, brand new for 120k. So if you're liberal with rounding the numbers, this car had a depreciation of close to 50% with 7,000 miles only. Seems to me a heck of a good deal because it's a heck of a great car. My 2 cents. Cheers. Marc
Dont forget Marc, Porsches state side are dirt cheap compared to here.My friend bought a 40th new off the lot for $108,000 CND , they didnt sell well at all here, and maybe that the case in the US as well.
$65K might not be that much less than what the buyer paid when new, I'm not sure what they are selling for used, but 40ths were discounted $15-20K when brand new according to my recollection and these threads: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/142691-help-thinking-of-buying-911-aniversary-model.html https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/132888-40th-anniversary-model.html Try doing a preowned Porsche search of dealer's cars: http://www.porsche.com/usa/pre-owned-vehicles/search/
I'd say go for it! Great price.... you will not regret it!
Take it and use it well, most of the depreciation is gone. Enjoy.
i have been following pricing for 40th anniv cars pretty closely and have come to the conclusion that $65k is about the right price for a 1-owner, no stories, low mileage example....
I would aim for 60K and sit. It may look better once the CAYMAN is out. No they are not direct competitors but the addition of a new vehicle in that price range may remove buyers from the pool and drive prices downward. I am not the only one who has suggested this- the dealers are prcing down their inventory in anticipation of this event. No the special/different 911 variants 40th/C4S/ and others will be less vulnerable BUT combine the depreciation, time ( BUY IN THE FALL, SELL IN THE SPRING) suggest a lower price should be possible shortly. Believe it or not there is plenty of inventory available even for the 40th. Likely 60% will turn over in the next two years. I almost bought one and waited until the end. One dealer told me "this is the last new one" but in reality there were many and they were steeply discounted once the 997 came in. Same for the CAYMAN.
Dealers were taking 18k off sticker here last year.....65k is way to much....you can get a used 997 S with 7k miles for 75k now..... More like 55k and ide bite!
