Has anyone replaced their original rubber bushings in their lower control arms (the arms are 996 341 053 17) with Powerflex polyurethane bushings, or any other aftermarket bushings? I'm talking about the inner end and the middle one (for the strut). Mine are original and have started to squeak. It's the rears that are squeaking. And if I replace the rears, should I do the front at the same time (is it safe to combine rubber in front with polyurethane on the rear?)? Any advice would be appreciated. It's for my 2000 996 C4 cab.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Not on my 996 but I did so on a previous car and if it is a DD probably not a good idea. This coming from a guy on X74, looking at GT3RS engine mounts that really does not mind harshness in the ride.
Polyurethane tends to bind, which is not what you want in a critical suspension part.
