Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After all the panic and numerous cross posts, the spacers worked out fine. After the North Ga drive and some aggressive driving, there was no rubbing! We had a black TT in our group that was lowered with the same size spacers I have. He tracks the car and has had no problems. Thanks again to Lizard1 (Frank) for his hard work getting a good deal on the spacers for me. Here are some pics.

POST 3Original post

Andy, The spacers nicely fill out the wheel wells. Glad they worked without fitment problems.

POST 4Original post

Hi Andy, I was at the starbucks (in the lowered black 993 coupe that showed up late with the wide rear wheels) but was not able to go on the run. I have been through hell with these rears. They rub like crazy, I have tried to raise the car, etc etc, I do not want to roll the fenders and alas I just came across your post on spacers!!. Do they really work??? OR maybe I am confused. Am I thinking of shims that widen the rear quarter panel a little?. You may be referring to spacers that bring the wheels out, which is the opposite problem I have.

POST 5Original post

Oh, and I mean rubbling on the outside lip of the fender. The lip is shredding my tires....

POST 6Original post

blickie If you have outside tire shoulder rubbing on the fender, (and are not using spacers) you must have wheels with a lower offset than 'ideal' for your car....What wheels are they? AND.....likely you have a lowered suspension?....yep I see the coil-overs you have listed. Andy's spacers move the wheel out...thereby reducing the offset measurement. His ride height (though lowered) is not too low to cause him problems.....and his spring rate is stiff enough so suspension travel does not get him in trouble (your H&Rs should do the job unless they are worn out). Without knowing more about your wheels (and their offset), pretty hard to help you out....suggest you take it over to the 993 Board. BTW.....if you are pretty close to being OK.....I'm not sure what the aversion is to fender prep is (by a good Pcar body man it should not be painfull).

POST 7Original post

yep, sounds like I do have the opposite problem. I have thrown it over now to my 993 buds on the other forum. thanks.
