Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

This was talked about a couple weeks back. Here's the link that includes some pictures: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/263503-engine-protection-plate.html Oh, and the part number is: 996.107.981.00

POST 6Original post

Thanks! I recently came over from the 993 forum where the word to the wise was to remove the engine cover to help the engine run cooler, and now I'm looking at buying an engine cover for my 996 to protect the engine.

Hey, a convert. Welcome to the water-cooled club. Cooling problems are largely a thing of the past. Now all you have to worry about are expansion tank leaks. Good luck.
