Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Do you all think that my no more waranty 2000 C2 engine (and rest of car) will hold a decent value if I have installed significant track upgrades: Pss9 suspension; GT3 swaybars; welded plate, but bolted in fabricated roll bar/cage by Kelly Moss Motorsports; fire supression system; lighter wheels and Porelli P Zero Corsa tires; upgraded brake pads; 6 point harnesses; GT3 seats? Thanks for your advice.

Ironically I was in that same position that you are about a month ago. I had a similar setup on a BMW M3. However, be prepared. You are selling to an select crowd. Don't plan on getting all the money back from what you spent on the car. It simply won't happen. However, if you stick your guns there are some folks out there who will recognize the value of the goodies and might be willing to pay a little extra over the normal price of the car. This is the case with my M3. Best of luck. Stick through, I am sure there is a clubracer out there drooling. cheers, Chad

These modifications in general do not change help a car maintain its value and they may in fact hurt its value if a perspective buyer thinks that the car has been abused by using it on the track. On the other hand, the right buyer should be willing to pay more for a car that has the modifications that they are searching for. This is a much smaller group of buyers, unfortunately. It's best not to expect to recoup much of your expenditures. You'll probable do better selling them a la carte. You're actually better off enjoying your car and its modifications as you have intended.
