Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, I stopped at the lights, blasting music and revving just before the lights turned green. Suddenly, my engine shuts off but with the music still playing ... No CEL lights. The car re-started nicely and normally. Any ideas? Cheers

POST 2Original post

I got this one. Simple. You turned the key off right?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hahahaha. I am actually pretty sure i did not turn the key off. The car turned itself off! All the lights on the dash appeared. I turned the key all the way off and restarted the car.

POST 4Original post

Personally, I would think that given all the issues you have had with the car, it's possessed.... Can you pull any codes with an OBDII reader? That might tell you something.

POST 5Original post

Is you car one of the new 991 Carreras that does that automatically?

POST 7Original post

What kind of music? Maybe it got bored? :P Might be throtle control problem...

POST 8Original post

Any chance it just shut down out of embarrassment due to the revving and loud music at a stoplight?

I often stall it when "blasting" music in stop & go traffic. Little distraction and not much clutch/engine noise feedback = hide under the dash .

POST 11Original post

I need one of those for my motorcycle. It sounds like an anemic Hoover now. (1998 BMW R1100RT)
