I'm thinking about having the dealer install an OE Short shift kit. I know it is more expensive but they are dangling my Certified Pre-owned warranty over my head. should I be concerned with a B&M or just pay up for OEM

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Let me assure you that I do not know the answer, but I had the same concern with the effect on warranty. I have not heard of a problem, but just in case I bought an OEM, from Brandywine I think, for $20 more than the B&M. It was worth it to me, even though I firmly beleive it is the same part. I installed it myself. There are plenty of instruction aids here on how to do it. You might have to wait a bit for a sale on the OEM part.
I did the same thing as DCP, I bought the Porsche one. It was $50 more than the B&M. I figured that it was worth any hassle that Porsche would possibly give me. Ultimately it shouldn't affect anything. It's really up to you. Remember, some dealerships sell both the Porsche SSK and B&M. You have to ask yourself why would they do that if there was a warranty concern?
Dominick - The previous two posters have already covered B&M/OEM shifter issues, so there is no need to rehash that. However, don't pay your dealer to install the shifter you choose. It is a DIY, and there are plenty of guys here that can and will help with additional info if you need it.
...and whatever you decide...YOU WILL BE amazed at the difference there is between the OEM and an aftermarket one. My Techart shifter is so much better than the stock...
Newsflash - B&M makes the short shifter for Porsche. It you look at them side by side, they are the same - except for color.
