Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, Looking for some advice from you all. I am looking to purchase a 2002/2003 C4S. Artic Silver or Seal Grey are the choices. First, where are the best places to look? Cars.com, Autotrader, Porsche.com? Next, what should I look for in the vehicle as far as options? As far as service goes I am aware of the RMS issue and will look for that. I will have a PPI performed. Anything else? Any other sage advice you can all offer would be appreciated. I currently drive a 993 and this would be my first 996. Thanks, Dennis

Dealer, get a warranty/porsche certified. Silver Star in LI has 1 or 2 like that.

If you're willing to import a car from Toronto (7 hours drive from your home town), I know of an incredibly mint 2002 in Seal Grey with 21,000 KMs on the clock (about 13,000 miles) with factory warranty until Spetember 2006. It belongs to a good friend who is moving to Manhattan and won;t be able to keep a car there. WIth the US dollar still stronger, it may turn out to be a great deal for you since the duties and other costs to import are very minor (I don;t have the details but I know that a car coming from the US to Canada is subject to only 2 or 3% duties). Email me offline at [email removed] for more info if you're interested. Alon
