Just received a new set of Fabspeed exhausts - nice ! Can't wait to hear the difference. Question : how difficult is it to install these exhausts ? I'm in limbo whether to take the car to the shop (needs planning, need to leave the office for a couple of hours, yadi yadi...). How much time does it take to install them yourself ? Any special tools needed ? Thanks ! Yves

Would you like to get rid of your stock mufflers?
Yves - I have not installed Flabspeed mufflers but I did swap out my stock mufflers for some OEM mufflers modified to sound like PSE mufflers. Here is the link to the thread in which I detailed the removal/install process. It is not really that hard and since the Flabspeeds should be set up to "plug n play" from a fit standpoint, the process should be the same. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/264754-stock-exhaust-cans-mod-to-pse-cans-long.html
Fabs are really easy to install, the hardest part is removing the old ones, which I would hold onto if I were you (resale wise).
GOTA911, how do the modified ones sound? Thanks
They are deeper and louder than the stock mufflers. I have not heard actulal PSE imufflers in person, so I can't compare the modified cans to the PSE cans.
Yves - if you decide to do them yourself, let me know when and if possible I'll come by and lend a hand (not that I know anything about swapping the exhaust, but 4 hands are better than 2). I'd like to hear the fabspeeds up close and personal. PM or email me if you're interested.
It's easy. I did it. Really the only tool I needed (borrowed from a neighbor) was a deeper socket to get the old cans off. If I can do it... Good luck and enjoy!
Spray your bolts and let them soak first. Get a long arm with socket and wrench it loose. The OEM mufflers have a bunch of attachment screws you'll have to search out.
Gota911, I have an appt at a local shop to modify my cans using your post... Do you still like the sound of your modified cans..? I am still debating if to spend $2k for PSE, $1K for Fabspeed, or $200 for your modification... Thanks.
Yes, I do like the sound. Inside the car it is a little louder (I have a coupe) but my wife and daughter say that it is louder than the stock mufflers. You will probably be able to hear the difference more in your cab. For $200, how can you go wrong? If you don't like it as much as you thought, you could probably sell them to someone here for $100 and get the aftermarket or PSE mufflers.
