Hi All, Looking and listening, I get a Squeak(old matress style) that seems to be coming from the steering wheel, Dashborard Area, this whilst driving on uneaven pavement or bumps... Have played with the steering ajustment lever (in & out) different positions, tried to 'hold on'' to dash pod , seems like plastic to plastic type noise... Anyone have expenrienced this ?, Solution??? Thanks T. 2001 911 Cab trip.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've got one too....have no idea where it is except that it seems to be behind the dash.....good luck finding that!!!
If it is intermittent and seems to be coming from the dash area, it might be actually coming from your outside rearview mirrors. There is a little tab in the outboard backside of the mirror that fits in a metal sleeve that get dry and will squeak, with the sound getting transmitted into the cabin. You can verify if this is your source by gently pushing on the outboard side of the mirror. To fix, the mirror simply pops on and off of the adjustor plate in housing. Pull it off, squirt some lubricant in the metal sleeve and that will do it.
will do, if not anyone else has ideas? short of taking steering wheel & dash appart?
It might be where the dash contacts the front window. Mine has been making a squeak for a few months now and I need to get that taken car of.
