Hello my rennlisters! I searched before and couldn't find any specific answers to what happened to me today. I was driving about 25 miles in good weather and driving pretty hard, then I chilled for a bit by keeping the revs low and then turned off the car to talk to my friend. After 5 mins, I got back into the car and turned the key. First it did a RennnnnRennnnnnaaaaa. Usually it goes rennnnaaaaVROOOM on a normal start. This time is did Rennnrennaaaa. Then I put the key back to the original off position and attempted to start the car again immediately after and it did a rennnnnrennnaaa. I pushed the gas a little while holding the clutch in and it didn't start up for the second time. I continued to turn the key to the off position then to the start and it went rennnrennnaa VROOOM and it started up fine. Is this normal? Should I be concerned? I think it may be that my spark plugs need to be changed... what do you guys think?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

That has happened to just about any and every car I have driven at least once. Pushing the gas while starting will only make the car not want to start. Don't worry and drive it harder As far as plugs how go... 996 MY99 every 30,000 miles GT3 (996) every 30,000 miles 996 MY00 every 45,000 miles 996 as of MY01 every 60,000 miles or at least every 4 years
