So i have been waiting now 3 weeks for my new engine to arrive from the US...(i live in HK) first i ordered the US spec engine but decided that i should go for the ROW engine (costs 2500) more but i know that this is the right engine for the car. Waiting eagerly for my engine the only ROW engine in the states when i get a phone call from sunset imports to tell me that the engine has been dropped of the fork lift truck and is no good to me anymore!!!!!! I literally burst out laughing...i dont think that this whole saga can get any worse to be honest . So here i am right back at square one.I am now going to do what i think i should of done in the first place and send the car to a independant Porsche garage get them to strip the engine down and see if they can rebuild it.He telling me if its a cracked cylinder head and there is a good chance that he can resleeve it and should be ok. I think i have been the victim of a unlucky purchase and some bad advice when it comes to diagnosis of the proble with the car.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Tough luck man Hope the engine rebuild goes well.
That sucks man. Talk about starting over...I feell your pain. GL
man... so close yet so far. Patience grasshopper.
Been following your story on your 996 engine - good luck on the rebuild. Who are you using in HK for the rebuild? Road and Track?
hey momo21 yeah Barry at Road and track picking the car up tomorrow so hopefully these guys seem really switched on about my situation..i shudda gone to these guys first but i dunno what happened between buying the car and getting some real bad advice from people that really didnt seemm to know what they are doing!!!! Still i am hoping that these guys can rebuild the engine and i can move on..i cleaned her yesterday and she is in such good condition...seems ironic she looks so good but wont go anywhere...has anyone had any experience with re-builds..i am worried i am going to have recurring isues with this engine and feel like i wanna just put a new lump in her regardless???what are your toughts??
