Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have the "Technical Manuals" but I couldn't find out HOW to disassemble the lower slots(the CD-Storage & the empty slot on my '99 996C2) underneath the dashboard. I looked thru the TM, but it only show me how to disassemble the dashboard, but no reference to the lower slots! I am really puzzled....

POST 2Original post

If you're trying to take out the CD holder assembly, simply release two or three of the CD holder trays, grab them firmly and pull. The entire CD holder assembly will come out. The other oddments tray can now be easily accessed and pulled out as well. Hope hat helps...

POST 3Original post

As crazy as it sounds, Bos is 100% correct. The CD storage, Tape storage, Cubby Hole Storage just pull right out.

POST 4Original post

OR YOU CAN PULL THE SIDES OFF AND PUSH IT THOUGH EITHER WAY WILL WORK

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In which direction should I be pushing or pulling the sides off? I have the "all-leather" option.

POST 6Original post

Pull from the back of the side panel outward toward the door.

POST 7Original post

GRAB AT THE BACK AND THEY SHOULD PULL OFF TOWARDS THE SIDES

POST 8Original post

Open all 5 CD trays, then grab all of them in one hand and pull them straight out (toward the rear window). It comes out in 1.2 seconds!
