Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry if this has been addressed in another thread. A site search didn't reveal anything. I have a 996 Mark II C4S that's needs its power steering high-pressure and return lines replaced. 3Zero3 Motorsports here in the Denver area quoted about $3100 bucks since they state they need to drop the front sub-frame to do it and then do a realignment. Anyone do this DIY? Any write ups on this forum or elsewhere? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

POST 2Original post

That sounds like a lot of money, but remember the car is packed tight and to replace one part you need to remove 3-4 other parts first! Labor is insane on the 996-7 cars. By the way what is wrong with your lines? If its something simple like a cut or broken line could a local hose shop fix it for you?
