Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Before dropping a couple of hundred bucks on a Porsche 996 hardtop wall mount, I want to know if anyone has made their own version. If so, how much work was involved? Based on pictures I've seen, it looks like the Porsche version supports the entire weight of the hardtop on the rear locking pins resting in "V" clips attached to a bar. It looks like the purpose of the lower bar is to keep the top oriented so that the pins won't slip out of the "V" clips. Am I right? Any suggestions?

POST 2Original post

Bump I haven't seen any good picks on how the wall mount works - all the pictures are of the hardtop hanging.

POST 3Original post

Home depot sells various mounting brackets to hang stuff from your garage wall. I'm thinking the bike mount might work. Don't know about the lbs. rating so what if you bought two and mounted them side by side. Only concern I have is if there is enough clearance from the wall.
