Looking for more storage for an upcoming road trip. I will post this in the wanted section as well, but I think this gets more traffic. Thanks! _

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

There was on on craigslist recently, $350 or so
Me, too. Every time I take my bike somewhere, the passenger seat has to stay behind...
I keep looking, but out here, nothing on CL. thanks though!

You could get a Will Rack receiver and than tote two bicycles and have empty seats other than your own. I had one for my Boxster S and plan to get one for my 996. E
I have one - i think the going price is $350 plus shipping. Or in NYC for pickup. pm or email if interested. Marc
email sent.
Good luck - these are hard to find. I looked for about 2 years before I found mine for my 996! The guy was only selling it because he didn't know it was compatible with the new 997 he had just bought...
They're available through the dealer, not very expensive. Also, if you have a pre-2001 car, make sure the screws on the roof are removable. I sold one of my previous MK1 cars in part b/c not having a roof rack was a deal breaker and the placeholder screws were fused in place.
thanks Bar, I am 2004... so should be good. I think MJP911 is going to hook me up.
Mine is sold. Thanks RL.
I have one for sale for $250 plus shipping. Please PM me if interested. ...Rickker
UPS the stuff and don't ruin the look of your car. same price to ship it.
I love mine except for the wind noise above 70 mph.
love mine too.
winter tire recommendation?
love my rack too...
Would something like this also work for a hardtop on a 03.2002 996 cab?
I don't think so. You need the four holes in the roof of a coupe to attach the rack. There's a special roof rack carrier for a cabriolet, which costs an arm and a leg.
The coupe RTS rack is still available. For more information, please click here. We can also order the RTS rack for a cabriolet.

How does this thing fit if the hard top doesn't have the screws as mentioned above (I haven't purchased it yet )... Also would the kit be handy enough to bring as hold luggage from the US to Europe by plane? Basically, can it be folded somehow for easy (enough) transportation? My plan is to keep a rack mounted on the hardtop as I would only need it for winter to have my skis or when going on longer trips across Europe.
The rack does not mount to the hard top. It mounts to the body. I do not have a picture of the 996 Cabrio RTS, but I did find this picture (also not mine) of a Boxster with one fitted. It is much the same theory.

The Cabrio Rts is ridiculous and incredibly expensive. I too wonder if the standard RTS would fit a removable hardtop. I don't see why not as it has the same channels. I may have to borrow one and find out. Anyone else try to fit one?
Has any one managed to work out a way to get the fused screws out of the roof brackets?
One for sale in my neck of the woods - FYI: Pittsburgh Craigslist Good luck all.
I need the cab version
Rickker you still have the luggage rack container?
