Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

my 02 C2 is seal gray and i have the lightweights on it. The paint has chipped in several places, but no real curb rash. Thought matte black (i did my gray four runner) would be kinda cool, but almost seems wrong to do on those wheels.. what does the crowd think??

POST 2Original post

I had them in black (both gloss and then matte) and another set in silver flake powder coat and didn't like any of them as much as the factory paint. In my opinion, original silver is the best colour for them.

POST 3Original post

I agree with Charlie - on a seal grey car, the color you have is IMO the best color.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys- i do love the seal gray on black interior and the wheels are in pretty decent shape- leaning towards leaving them alone then!!

POST 5Original post

I just got an 03 seal grey NB myself; and just bought a set of those same five spoke lightweight wheels too. They have a couple small paint chips in them (at least from what I could see in the pix of them from the seller). Anyone have any tips on ways to do touch up work on them? I don't really want to pop for full refinishing job (at least not yet).

POST 6Original post

I'm not a fan of black wheels generally, and I wouldn't dream of putting them on my Seal Gray '03 C2 coupe.

POST 7Original post

If anything try them in Black (flat) Plasti-Dip. If you don't like 'em just peel it off!

POST 8Original post

Black and tint the windows, that would look very nice.

POST 9Original post

Black/Red, still need to lower, since an LS3 is lighter then a M96

POST 10Original post

I'm a fan of the silver wheels with the seal grey.

POST 11Original post

It looks good as-is. But matte black would look really nice too.

POST 12Original post

Crap. Can't attach on my iPad but had a seal grey 986 and had wheels powder coated gloss black and I loved it. Pm your email and I can email you a pic.

POST 13Original post

My car is seal grey and I like the OEM silver look too, but I must say fierofly, your combo looks great. The red calipers and little red script tie in the red trim on the rims nicely. Are the calipers painted? And how'd you do the red lip on the wheels?

POST 14Original post

Powder coat them KTM orange... Only kidding. Sort of. I'm kind of a fan of orange as well.

Thanks, It's a 2003 C4S, Calipers came Red, The red on the rims is a plastic wheel protector that sticks on the rim edge, bought E=Bay. Then you add one of these to match. http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversion...version-7.html

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys- pfbz- love the ktm wheels- would have to take that to a race for sure! I have a silver jeep 2 door and may just black those wheels instead and leave the baby alone.... fun messing with these things..

POST 17Original post

WTF Fierofly!! Didn't see that one coming! You've elevated the conversation to a hole new level now! LOL! Sweet!

POST 18Original post

I like the original silver as well, but a gloss gunmetal grey/silver would rock.

POST 19Original post

My seal grey with black powder coated wheels...986

POST 20Original post

My Seal Grey coupe with different Black wheels. When I added the silver and black Porsche crests on the wheels (not in this picture), they really popped.

POST 21Original post

Here's Arctic Silver Metallic with some OEM C4 17'ers I had powder coated earlier in the year. These are shown with the center caps from my MY02's. I'm using them as winter wheels.
