Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Both the alternator pulley and the driving pulley are fixed. Take the belt off and the alternator should freely spin 'silently'. The other pulley is driven by the belt as the engine is running.
From what I have found out the 99 cars Do not have the clutched pulley. I have a 99 also, and it is not clutched either. I think it was only 2000 and up got the clutched pulleys on the 6 speed cars. Hope that helps you. Jeff
Thank you both very much! I had it tested and they said it was low voltage at 12.1 but I thought these were 12V alternators

The normal output of a 12v alternator should be between 13.5v and 14.5v
