My dream came true at 56 years old, I own my first 911. 73k miles on it, and the previous owner went right through the car. It has a new touch screen Pioneer stereo and amp, the IMS is done. It came with an extra set of 18" wheels with Michelin tires with hardly any mileage on them. The car is so sweet. My first question is how critical is tire size to the AWD system? It currently have 295's on the back and should have 275's. There is a 1.9% difference in OD front to back. Correct size Incorrect size currently on the car It seems I was reading somewhere that the front and rear are coupled hydraulically so maybe this doesn't matter. I just want to correct it if need be. Thoughts?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Congrats on the new car!
leave it alone and calm down. It's an old sports car. It's not flying you to mars.

I got my first at 56. It was worth the wait. Enjoy! Theres a wealth of PhD level expertise on the 996 here. TC
Congrats! I got my first Porsche at 29, but I was having a mid life crisis back then, the car was only $16k, and I was single with no kids, lol. Doesn't matter, you did it, and it looks beautiful. Enjoy in good health!
I can't source the info, but my recollection is that < 3% is the magic number; you should be fine... Of course, you could always just rip out the front diff and remove the "4" from the deck lid...
Congratulations and welcome! And wider is better
Congrats
Congrats and I do think you are looking at this right...you do want to keep the diameters close for AWD. BTW, this is another example of 91" lobsters on a 996 and I think they look fantastic. Enjoy
