How is the ride quality of C4S compare to C2S? C4S still a good road tripper? I guess best answer would come from someone that has owned or spent a lot of time in both. thanks RBC

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. I've owned both. Really a little difference to the C4S being more rigid, but ever so slightly different. Buy a cadillac if you're concerned about road trip comfort.
No experience with a 2S, but I drove my 4S back to Boston from Seattle. It was small, tight, and not practical for 3,400 miles, but I have gone to Vermont and Maine and, as long as I'm not carrying a lot of luggage or other useless crap, I can't think of a more fun car to be in.
@silotwo has one of each so I'm curious what he'd say. I can't offer you a comparison between the two but, as the owner of an '04 C4S, I can say that the C4S is a great road trip car. I'm not sure why the C2 would be the better car for a trip but I'll also defer to others who have spent more time behind the wheel of both. Some people prefer the feel of a RWD car (especially a RWD 911) to an AWD car but that's a personal thing. I like the security of AWD plus, and I know this, too, is highly subjective but I love the C4S' wide body. I like big butts and I cannot lie... -Eric
My wife and I have taken four road trips of 500+ miles in the 17 months we've owned our C2S. Two of those trips were 2K plus miles. The 911 is a great road trip car - good mpg, fun to drive, comfy, and it attracts, thus far, only good attention and has been a great way to meet people out on the road. We've trained ourselves over the years to travel as light as possible - if we can't, then we take the pickup - and so storage space is not an issue. I can't imagine a C4/C4S would not be likewise great for travel...T
The C2 is a little lighter and feels a little quicker from the start and that's that in my opinion. The handling is a little different but I don't think you will notice it around town. Yes it's a great road trip car and if you love the drive of a Porsche you will love it across many many miles. If your looking for a road cruiser there is many other options. You just have to love the feel of the Porsche.
The reason I was asking about ride quality is because I thought the C4S had a stiffer suspension then a C2. I road tripped my 02 C2 cab a couple of times and found it to be very comfortable. thanks for all the replies RBC
