Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been considering messing around with my headlights. I'm sure I'm the first one to even toss around the idea of playing with my Amber lights... Read the diy on how to take them apart, there seems to be several early 996 variations with different reflectors etc.. I ultimately am going to leave my Amber as is I really don't mind the Amber, just not a fan of all the reflector chrome. I really like these...

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My headlights look like this right now..so much chrome

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wow these are really hard to take apart...not for the faint of heart.... I was not able to do it today.. Perhaps a day when I have more time.

POST 4Original post

I made a couple of videos a while back that may help. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-sjOnfMHED0

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! That was perfect. Question, on my style lights is the silver painted corregated part painted on or a separate insert?

It is a separate piece that just pops off Always glad to help! Thanks for the compliment!

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have you ever seen one with silver paint on the back side of the clear lense?

POST 9Original post

So, the backside of the lens is actually painted around the fog and main lamp area? Not just the perimeter? I've seen some on eBay, but always thought it was just the lighting. Never seen one in person.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am still trying to determine if my style can be taken apart and all the silver around the outside of the lense removed.. Does anyone know?
