Is power loss and stalling indicative to transmission failure? I know the transmission is slipping, but I'm not much of a car guy since this is my first serious performance car. If so, what recommendations can you guys point me to for a rebuilt transmission?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Pull the trans dipstick if it has one to see if the level is good & smell the fluid to see if it has a burnt smell. What year Porsche ?
2000, 996, automatic. Not sure if it has one, will go check.
No visible dip stick. Would a transmission flush work, I know it has 127k miles on it.
First of all, get the transmission serviced. Full fluid change and filter. I would take it to a professional that knows about a Porsche auto transmission, how to service it and check it out. You also have a TCU - transmission control unit that can be scanned for faults or problems. Now, stalling and loss of power could also be a multitude of things. Best place to start is scan the car with Durametric or PIWIS.
But the initial question could that cause power loss and stalling, if the transmission is indeed failing.
Generally speaking power loss/stalling would be engine related. Also generally speaking the transmission is related to the movement of the vehicle - i.e. - " put it in gear but it won't move...". Beyond these scenarios it's difficult to diagnose without seeing/hearing the car itself. Good luck
Take the car the proper mechanic and let them look at it. Judging by your questions, your automotive knowledge is very limited and anyone trying to figure out what you are trying to describe can lead you down the wrong path. Sounds to me you have more than one problem with the car.
Please describe the what the transmission is doing. Power loss can be related to many thing. Ignition issues, clogged catalytic converters, fuel system issue, etc. You need to be more specific on what is going on to help us try to narrow it down.
