This is my 2002 911 twin turbo being repainted. I took a time lapsed photo of it in the paint booth. Car was Guards Red and the clear coats had chips and some small dings from over the years. Decided to make it look like factory new. First they sealed the car. Then they lay down BASF waterborne color with three layers of clear coat at Geneva Foreign & Sports in Geneva, NY. Ill post final pictures as soon as its reassembled. Porsche Full Paint Video - YouTube Should I have the 3m protectant installed?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Cool video. Looking forward to seeing the final result. Do you mean a clear bra product? I have extensive clear bra on my car and it has done a nice job of protecting my paint.
How many cups of espresso did that fella have?
Did the strip out all the rubber seals, etc or just mask over?
cool
Great vid! I was wondering the same, about the rubber seals. Quick nitpick comment: The thread title says "slow motion". The vid is fast-motion.
Hey, he missed a spot!
Nice video, thanks for sharing. Nice booth also. Ive personaly painted many cars by my own hand. Not as easy as it looks. Id be curious to know if they cut the entire car and buff it. Most shops stop at 2 coats of clear; pretty sure I counted 3. Nice
The bumpers must be painted separately somewhere else?
I would assume that paint on the bumper covers needs a "flex agent" in the paint so that it won't crack...
Always remove all of the rubber and trim. For the extra three hours it is well worth it. No paint lines anywhere now. I was considering the clear bra for the car to protect it. Trying to find someone that is capable of doing it near me now. He had 4 cups of espresso. I asked for the third coat of clear. The finish was baked in the end and it looks just like the car came off the factory line. I am going to have them lightly sand it just to get any little bits of dirt out and then polish it. The bumpers are always painted off the car and their clear has a flex additive in it as well. It should be fully assembled today and I will try to get some before and after pictures. Going to sand and buff the headlights now. Thanks Dan
Make sure you treat the headlights with a UV protector, or they will turn yellow in less than a year.
This is pure car ****. Thanks for sharing!
