Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My newly acquired 99 C2 has 2 easy to fix cosmetic items that I had to overlook. Early 99 headlights and an aftermarket wing/spoiler. Ive already ordered new headlights. Now Im not sure on the wing/spoiler. Its only been 5 days and Ive gone back and forth. Would really like the opinion of other 996 owners. Brutal honesty welcome

POST 2Original post

Only problem with removing it, you will need to weld the holes up and repaint or buy another lid and sell this one complete.

Still trying to figure out if its bolted on OR simply held in place by 3M tape. Unfortunately Ive been working every day since I picked it up.

Not really my cup of tea but I bet it looks better when the wing is extended. I'd leave it on for a couple of weeks and then see how you feel about it. It looks like it's fastened to the plastic part.

Can you post a picture of the whole side? I think I am kind of digging it.

I really dont have any side pictures yet. But thanks, its nice to see one positive comment 😂

My personal opinion is go big or go home. I’d either remove it and stay stock, or get a Taco spoiler. You can find rear decks on eBay, then sell yours and you’ll break even or make a little gas money

POST 9Original post

My vote: No spoiler unless you are racing. But if you are going to have one, I agree with Tex, go big or go home.

My C4S has this very same little spoiler on it. Was on it when I purchased it. I believe it might be a Tech Art piece. Mine is bolted on. I tried to remove it a few months ago but found out it had a bolt through the deck lid. Left it on. Ive ask a few and everyone says leave it, its cool. But Im not totally sold on it. Most likely Ill dump mine. Jim
