Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No affiliation, but this car seems like a great deal! Tip tranny, which many don't like, but I'd sure consider this car. Seems to me that it should be selling for at least 20 K or so. Craig's List Link: http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/4800708287.html .

POST 2Original post

115k miles & a Tip Car, I'd say that's About Right! Good Deal, but I Wouldn't pay anymore for it than that! Thanks for Posting Cuda! jmo!

POST 3Original post

That seems about $5,000 lower than normal for that car. There may be a story behind this car, despite what the ad says.

POST 6Original post

A C4S like this in Canada would fetch low $30k. Feels too good to be true but, eh!, this could be a great solution for Cuda's issue.

POST 7Original post

Too good to be true. The engine itself can sell for that much. Cuda can buy it for the engine and have a spare roller for parts

When I was looking for my 996 I would always take a paint meter along. Can't tell you how many times that 'perfect' car would yield 3.5 to 5 everywhere except a fender or hood where it would scream 10.0 to 12.0 without explanation from the owner. This was often the case where there were already a few POs.

POST 10Original post

My brother picked up a '99, manual, C4, in Seatle, 3 weeks ago for the same price. Has a little under 100K miles. If I was in Cuda's situation, I would buy this car and sell the blown up engine one for $5K.
