Had a particularly stressful day at work the other day. Last one to leave the office. As I lamented about the stress I walked up to my car and saw this perfect picture opportunity. It captures exactly what I felt - relief, anticipation and happiness. As I got in, turned the key, blipped the throttle, heard the rumble of the exhaust - my day was transformed and the joy of driving the car in clear traffic erased every molecule of stress hormones from my system. They aren't kidding when they say "Porsche - there's no substitute"

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It most definitely is a realxing car and can turn a dismal day around.
I instantly feel the stress leave my body just walking into my garage or shop!
I suspect we all have the regular route home... and the faster/curvier/longer route.
That's a great thing to come out too and a great write up. Love to see the positive things and enjoyment these cars bring. Enjoy
That's the great thing about driving it ever day. I long for a longer commute.
Absolutely!
Wait, was this you ?

HAHAH! I never saw that before but YES that is exactly how it was for me. OMG I never saw an ad that duplicated my situation so closely!
I've been out of town all week and I can't wait to get home so I can drive mine again! Only owning it for a couple of weeks and I can't stop thinking about it
I know the feeling. I park in the train station parking garage, and frequently work late, getting back at 9 or 10pm. The sight of my 996 in the corner of the empty garage just lifts my spirits!
You are soooo right! Walking up to the car even after all these years I get this thought in my head like" OMG i own that car"! Silly grin and happy drive no matter the day's events! Good fior yiou! Pete
The sound, the rumble and push from behind. Its a happy place.
So true! First thing I look forward to after work every day.
Absolutely agree. I find myself looking for reasons to drive. "Honey, I noticed we are out of soap and shampoo, going to run down to the store to pick some up, need anything else?" She thinks I am nuts and is probably right. Oh well, if your going to be a bit neurotic you may as well have an enjoyable manifestation of it.
Sunny day behind the wheel of a car you love, doesn't matter where you're going; will make your day better.
I drive a company Silverado for work but love opening up the garage door to see that familiar ***.
My wife has me figured out. When she sees me washing the car she comes outside and announces "I suppose we need to hold dinner again while you go dry the brakes?" And the best part.... Stress reduction equals longer life expectancy! What better excuse to put more miles on.
Wow. I actually had a ****ty day today but I biked into work (to get some exercise). When I got home I gave the car a quick wash and took it out for a spin. My mood was instantly transformed. I just watched the Porsche commercial above and they nailed it. It was just like that.
It's 5:45 in the AM on Saturday..and I am due to go to the gym in 15 minutes. If it was not for the pleasure of getting into the p-car in the next few minutes and getting onto empty streets, Id still be in bed. Love it.
Damn right, here as well! I also look for ANY excuse for a decently long drive. My schedule makes it so difficult....it sucks. It really is a big time stress reliever on the right road.
Looong day today - fun commute home on empty Highways awaits

Love it!!!!
Crappy workdays are really the only time I miss having a cab. While my 911 is still my favorite compared to the Boxster it replaced, something about opening the convertible top after a day at work was even more cathartic. Every time. Winding the tach up to redline on the way home can make me forget about damn near anything else.
When I open the garage and start the car for its warm up before fun - the sound echoing out is exhilarating. You know your about to go the long way wherever you're going. After all you don't want to drive it without it it completely warming up - right?
It's already been a long day at the office, I feel the need for a drive. Here's to good ole 911 stress relief!
My own personal little psychotherapy session on the way home. And it doesn't cost any extra
Cayenne appears to have a coolant problem so I had to de-ice the C4 and take it out on the intended errand. Didn't think too much about the Cayenne on the the way out Did have me thinking about the 996's waterpump and intermix though. Then I drove home at 70mph in 3rd and didn't really worry about those either
After a long day at work. Especially when it's one of those days. It ALL escapes instantly from me soon as I catch a glimpse of this sight, and sit in the seat. Never a day I don't climb in w/o a smirk on my face God am I lucky
