Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So this has turned into one of my typical projects, where I ended up right back where I started. Here's my issue: Just picked up a 2002 C4S. Cigarette lighter is missing. I wanted the "no smoking" cover for it, just so I don't have to look at the empty hole in the dash. Ordered part # 99665210300A01 from ECS tuning, which came with the cover and the actual lighter assembly. It said that 2002 and up models needed the outlet swapped. Not sure why, since anything I've tried in my outlet fit fine. Anyway, part shows up today, so the first thing I try is the new cover in my outlet....no dice, cover is too big to fit. No problem, I'll swap the new outlet in too. Turns out, the new outlet doesn't fit into the clear plastic light ring from the old outlet, and the new outlet didn't come with a new ring. Does anyone know what the part # is for just the no smoking cover that fits the outlet in my car? I'd prefer not to go through this whole process again, but if I have no choice, I'll swap the whole assembly again....as long as it comes with the parts I need.

my ecs kit didnt fit on my 03. I forget what the issue was. The clear plastic didnt' fit something....etc .etc. Anyways i ordered the kit from suncoastparts and no issue.

POST 3Original post

I think the kit was supposed to come with the clear plastic ring.

Another option is a USB charger. I put one in my 996 (and my 997). More Hi Tech than a cover and of course, better looking than a lighter. Useful too.

Is this the kit you ordered from Suncoast? http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...Code=POTE996CM I looked at that, but it says for '97 - '01. Wasn't sure if it would fit.
