My VIN is WP0AA29934S622942 and built in 06/04. Has anyone seen a later model 996? Mine is a 2004 C4S Coupe in Midnight Blue Metallic with Grey interior.

Nope! My 05 C4S has a build date of 07-04. There were quite a few non-premium 996's sold as 2005's...in fact: "996's produced and sold as 2005's", as info. 728 4S Coupe 763 4S Cabs 201 Carrera Cab 276 GT3 122 Turbo 18 GT2 129 Targa 90 GT3 Cup 127 Turbo Cab 598 Turbo S 960 Turbo S Cab Total 996 production of all models for Y 05 was 4012

Correct on both. There were also a small number of 996 C4S and C2 cars manufactured in 2005.

I can tell you the very last Turbo S coupe had a build date of July 2005. It was a paint to sample and was "sold" August 10 2005. have no idea on other trim levels.
