Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

just a shot in the dark, but has anyone seen any statistics regarding how many of the approximately 175k 996s are still on the road after all these years?

POST 3Original post

There is no way to know this. They were shipped to different countries; some died; some had accidents; there is no central repository's of cars worldwide. Just my two cents....

That's the old number before they counted the other ones. 283

POST 5Original post

About 80% of them are still on the road. The other 20% made it back home to their owners garage. :

POST 6Original post

Porsche says that 70% of their cars are still on the road. I'm pretty sure that's their number.

POST 7Original post

70% x 175,000 = 122,500... does that mean they're collectible now?

POST 8Original post

I think their position is 70% of all porsches. I doubt it is an even distribution by model. Lots of Cayennes and Macans padding the number, Im sure.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
