Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys after much trial an error I have finally determined that my coolant bleed valve is leaking due to faulty gasket. Is there any way to remove this without removing the entire expansion tank? There are 3 screws in the the valve that dont have enough clearance to come out. The other 5 screws are easily removed.

POST 2Original post

You can unbolt the coolant tank nut (same nut that holds down the SAI pump bracket) then pull the coolant tank to the right off its mounting bracket.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok thanks a lot!!! So basically I can just pull the tank to the right just enough to undo those 3! remaining bolts correct? Its a 1999.

POST 4Original post

That's right. Once the tank is off it's mounting bracket, there should be some wiggle room to lower the tank a bit to help clearance too.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ahsai thanks so much. Your tip saved me a whole day of unnecessary work!
