Edit: Huh.. It's not the brake booster - it's the ABS unit. [ 1999 C4 ] See attached photo. This is the BACK of the milled aluminum block to which all the brake lines are fitted. On the back there is a center milled hole, and two plastic caps. In the photo the left cap is removed exposing a brass nipple. When I brake, all is normal for a couple of seconds then the pedal sinks a little because brake fluid is oozing out of this brass nipple. What is it? A burst valve or something? O-ring? Ideas on steps? I'm hoping this is just a failing part like a burst valve or an o-ring and not a failsafe burst valve being triggered due to something more serious. Thanks in advance Keith

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
