Has anyone heard of this color or have any good pictures of it? I'm curious because I found one for sale and I have never heard of it thanks in advance, Chris

its Vesuvio, I honestly used to like the color when i first saw it on a 993 Carrera S with contrasting door handels mirrors and other stuff, but It's not my favorite 996 color, although i prefer it to all the silvers. Seems 50% of 996's are silver. Are you looking at the 99 with the aero kit for $32,000?

I have only seen one Viola car in person, a Boxster back in 2001. It is a pretty cool color. It looks nearly black at night. It doesn't photograph well, but here is a picture at Yoseif's gallery. http://www.whiteson.org/boxster/gall...44376074.shtml

Mark when i hear black plum i would have thought Viola too. But I saw a 99 996 that the owner described as simply "black plum" but after looking at the pics more closely its obviously vesuvio, not viola. I do really like the viola, I used to own a BMW M5 in a similiar color. happy hunting

Here is my Vesuvio Metallic 996...if this is the color you are loking at, I absolutely love mine. It grows on you. It is really impressive in the sunlight. The nice pictures are thanks to Chuck Jones.
