Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm contemplaing a 1999 car with a four spoke grey steering wheel. Not sure if I can look atthat all day long. What are my options to replace? Post 'em up people!

POST 4Original post

Could we see pics with, where and how to purchase along with price as well? That would be a great help.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! Keep 'em coming please

POST 7Original post

Excuse me...so very sorry...Got mine from FVD (sale $1400 w/leather collar). Had the airbag custom recovered in red leather and had a silver Porsche logo embroidered on...cost about $200 (local shop).

Newport, It couldnt be a struggle looking forward to jumping in that cockpit every day..

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What about you track guys. I'm thinking something a little more "classic".

POST 10Original post

Stock OEM Graphite Gray. 2nd pic is leather air bag cover from Carnewal site. I'm not sure if Carnewal has it in Gray though.

POST 11Original post

Is this a factory wheel? I really like the look of this one, it's got great lines and style and is not over the top, simple and exotic. Any additional information is greatly appreciated.

POST 12Original post

I think the factory 996 three-spoke is the best looking 911 steering wheel of all time. The aftermarket ones look like they belong on a kit car (no offense). If you can find it, try and source the thicker, smaller diameter OEM Porsche 3-spoke. I believe Audion19s has it on his.

POST 13Original post

I just put a graphite wheel exactly like gota011's on my '00 C2. It was a super cheap mod, in my frame of reference... <$500 from Suncoast, plus the airbag. If you have the non-full leather interior, it's the most factory looking match, and the wheel is ergonomically just right. Porsche also sells a thicker version of the same wheel, but for quite a bit more money. I was well taken care of by Suncoast. A tip: In order to determine for sure what wheel is right for your car, they'll ask you for your VIN when you call. Dealers, too. There are, like, five pages of part numbers for each year of 996 for steering wheels alone. I agree with Benjamin... that wheel may be the cheapest option, but it's also the best looking, or at least the most OE looking.

Here's an off-kilter shot of my CF OEM wheel with the stitched leather center

POST 15Original post

I have recieved quotes on the THICKER 3 spoke factory wheel... without air bag and horn cover -- roughly $850 from two different dealers I am sure someone with "parts connections"can do better than that... Anyone know of a steering wheel (factory or After market) that has a flat bottom section and works with factory air bag? Like the one in the Euro RS4 Audi...

POST 16Original post
