How do I add coolant. The level is sitting right below minimum and I'm worried.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'll be interested to see if there's a more clever way to do this, but until someone posts it, here's how I did it: Car cool and on level ground. Add the mixture directly to your expansion tank. If you don't have pre-mixed coolant, then get a measuring jug or something like that and either mix it in the cup or add distilled water and coolant proportionally until the level is where you want it. I think for your part of the world, you should be 60:40 water, but since you're adding so little it probably doesn't matter. Close the expansion tank cap tightly. If you have the old style cap, treat yourself to a new one. And my .02 on coolant (there may be dissent): I wouldn't even mix brands, never mind types, and I buy the Porsche stuff. Not that it happens all the time, but there are some types of coolant that gel when mixed with others. Consequences are pretty ugly. Cheap insurance, if you ask me.
What is the difference between the old and new caps? Oh and it is a 02 C2 Cab
The old design lets coolant escape under pressure. I don't actually know what the flaw was, but the replacement is cheap and you'll notice that the part number is a supercession. If the part number on your current cap ends in 00, it's old. 01, it's new.
thanks
Possible correction on the issue with the old coolant overflow tank caps. My perception is the opposite. The coolant caps have a valve in them that releases pressure. You can tell if your's is ok by removing the cap and shaking it. You should feel the valve clunking around when you shake it vigorously. Early caps would get gummed up and not open under pressure. Among other things, this can cause your coolant system to blow out somewhere else. Like a hose to my left radiator.
I tend to agree with Ranger, kinda like an old PCV shake/rattle - good!
Ah, thanks for the correction.
