Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, Was the 40th the only 996 to have LSD as standard equipment. Also does anyone know the option code for LSD. This may be a silly question, but would a PSM car have LSD as part of the system? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

no it won't, lsd was only available as an option for 99 and that was before thay had PSM as an option for the carrera. I am not sure of the option number it was 22(?) there were traction options that year, there was ABD (Automatic Braking Differential), traction control and LSD, and unfortunately for me, I just have the ABD and traction control without the elusive LSD

POST 3Original post

It was option code 220.... My 1999 C2 has both the LSD and traction control. I don't believe you can get the LSD without the traction control so if that switch is not present in the dash on a 1999 then there is no option to have the LSD. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. David

POST 4Original post

The 40th, the GT2 and the GT3 all have LSDs standard. It was option only on the 99' in the US. The 40th had both the LSD and PSM standard. Today in Europe they have an M030 suspension option that includes the LSD and PSM (whic is std on the 997), but not PASM.
