Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, In a 996 Carrera 4 black with GT2 front an rear bumper, which rims can I install? I'm thinking in: Kahn RSR 8*18 ET49 225/40R18 9.5*18 ET52 265/35R18 Kahn RSC2 8.5*19 ET45 235/35R19 +7mm Spacers 11*19 ET50 315/30R19 +15mm Spacers 9ff Fr-1-18 9*18 ET36 225/40R18 11*18 ET55 285/30R18 I'm new with Porsche's and as far as I know it seems that the Turbo or the S ones can run wider ones and the "normals" do need less wide rear tires and rear rims or fender rolling. With are the suggest sizes and offets? Best Regards and Thanks.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If I get the RSR, would the offsets be right? Kahn RSR 8*18 ET49 225/40R18 9.5*18 ET52 265/35R18 Can I put in front 235/40R18 and rear 275 or 285/35R18? Anyone know the original sizes of the rims and the tires? Best Regards.

POST 6Original post

Are the pictures in this thread of 18's ? They look more like 19's... BTW... agree the RSR's are my choice of the 3

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

They are 18' but seems at least 19'; Maybe they are photoshoped. Here is how the 18 looks on a boxter; no doubt they look BIG !!! Best Regards.

POST 8Original post

Yep they do look bigger on a Boxster. Maybe the top 2 are 18's but the botton one looks more like 19's. So why 18's and not 19's? Just curious as a newbie

POST 9Original post

If you go without body kit, go 18's..it will look like the 2nd pic if the car is lowered. If you have sideskirts and you say a GT2 bumper, then I would go 19's...again it needs to be lowered....Just my opinion.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The top 2 are 18 and the bottom 19. The top 2 are only made in 18' and the bottom one is only made in 19'. Best Regards and Thanks.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I will try to post photos of the car soon. Thanks.

POST 12Original post

The last pic looks like 20 inch wheels...Too Escalade for me

POST 13Original post

I woulod go with the 9FF rims. At least they are proper tuner rims with TUV certification...

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Which other rims do you suggest me?

POST 15Original post

Firstly, do not compromise on quality. If you do, you will pay in the lon run. Stick to genuine Porsche or known tuners. Style is a very personal thing. I would say look at the complete range of Porsche wheels, inlcluding those for RS models, 997's etc. They can really lift the standard 996. There are some recent posts with lots of pictures, too. In terms of tuner wheels, I love Techart Formula GTS wheels and the new Rinspeed wheels. Ruf is another one... I am going through the same thought process for my 996. Until I can decide, I am having my GT3 wheels redone in gloss black...
