So Ill admit, while I love the looks of my new to me C4S, I found the handling of my 99 C2 lighter and more nimble. Ive read about folks removing the front DS. Can anyone tell me how big a difference it makes? Will removing it make the C4S feel like a C2?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Its not just the drive shaft, its the front diff assembly and both axles.. And if you want to go all the way its a new set of uprights and some mechanical work. I personally don't find it heavy but I drive a couple vehicles with manual steering so it almost feels twitchy when I get in the C4..
Thanks PDX. That sounds like more than I wanna get into. Ill keep it as is.
The slightly muddy feel on the c4 is partially related to the viscous coupling in the front diff housing,, its a fluid technology and it allows power to be applied at the ratio of slip, I find mine feels more nimble when I'm really hammering it in to a turn, gets the link up to full transfer faster.. I also notice it at low speed in parking lots..
So youre saying to just drive it faster? On it! 😁. Yeah, the steering is really heavy at parking lot speed.
Given the timing,, I just don't understand why porsche didn't use the electrically activated viscous coupling.. The PSE could have engaged it ,, and if you wanted you could turn it off completely and lighten up the steering.. FWIW,, I have a jeep with locking diffs in the axles,, when I engage them its instant,, and they cost less than a replacement coupling.. Youd also wonder why Quaife didnt come up with something.. maybe just too small of market..
