Hello Could anybody tell me what the little device is that sits just behind the front air dam just behind the number plate and down to the left as you look at the front of the car (bad description but somebody may be able to work it out!! )???? I washed the car and felt this "thing" and have no idea what it does. It is attached to some wires and seems to have a rubber grommit holding it to the car. Is it an air temp sensor?? Anybody?? Ta Beno

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You are correct - assuming it is mounted on the right side of the car when you are inside the car (left when you are facing the front) it is the outside temperature sensor.
cool - Many Thanks Bob!
Shoot!! I thought these things went so fast that it was an airspeed indicator. My bubble has been burst. Dwayne

It really is an airspeed indicator, in a manner of speaking... As you approach the speed of sound you will typically see it climb to ~1400F
