when I locked my doors this morning with the FOB, the horn beeped as if one of the doors wasn't closed. I figured I didn't close the drivers door hard enough so I went back, opened and closed the door again. Pushed the lock button on the FOB and the turn signals blinked and then the horn beeped AGAIN! CRAP! WTF?! So then I made sure every door was closed, the engine cover was closed as well as the boot. Same thing....locked, lights flash and the damn horn beeped again! I gave up and went into my office. Anyone have any idea WTF is going on here? Other than the alarm system going bad.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Arm rest?
That would have been my guess too. If the armrest is open the horn will beep...
OMG are you serious? That has to be it then because I had it open right before getting out of the car. Thanks guys!
Actually, I am not sure but this may only be a feature on cabs.
"feature", there is a creative word.............feature would have been to have this security point engaged only when the top is down. As it was designed, it feels like a flaw to me. I have experienced this "feature" as you described it, ie, the system security will not set with the fob.
The alarm beep is to let you know something is not closed all the way. If the cover for the center storage bin is not latched it will beep. I do not latch mine so I can hear the beep as I walk away from the car while I push the lock button. The alarm will still work on all other entry points. It is like this on all current models. Jeff
I used to do it the same way Jeff does just so I know that the lock signal was received as I walk away. Now, I do a quick double click to get the beep.
I do it exactly as jeff. I think the flaw, if there is one, is that it should audibly sound when you lock the car and unlock it.......ever forgot where you parked your car at a football match
Broken sensor on center storage console? Happened to me when B&M shifter was installed. Something's open. Regards. Mike
Interesting, My 996 does the same thing and it started after the B&M shifter was installed.
By the way, I am going to take out the B&M ****er..I don't think it's what it's cracked up to be, I prefer the GT2 shift feel. I have driven a lot of manual gearboxes over the years. Some people I have talked to prefer the Techart or the RUF.
