Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A few weeks ago I posted about a delay in throttle response when blipping the throttle. This is quite bothersome during spirited driving when matching revs is necessary. Well I spent some time in a BMW Z8 recently and did some comparison. Now I don't know if the Z8 has drive by wire throttle actuation but I would assume it does as it's a very new model. The throttle response was MUCH better IMO than the 996. I was surprised since logic tells me the flat 6 should be better in this area than a V8. Also as many people responded to the last thread that the fly-by-wire was the culprit of the delayed response, I don't see how this could be the reason. I'm still unhappy with the throttle response on my car and would like to fix it if possible. Maybe a lighter flywheel??? Any thoughts? TIA

POST 2Original post

I've noticed this too...and I have a cable throttle. Must be the flywheel? Does make heel-toeing a little trickier.
