photo(10).JPG This little black and white doo-dad is connected to a hole in the sleeve that connects the intake manifold to the throttle body. The short hose doesn't connect to anything. The only thing I found in the parts diagram that was even close was a check valve (part # 17) that connects to the vacuum reservoir: 108-05.gif The intake diagram doesn't even show it: 107-10.gif

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As I was typing this up I figured out it is the check valve, it was just "reinstalled" by the dealer improperly. See my previous post: Sloppy Work from Dealer I say that because first of all it was backwards - the valve is suppose to connect at the vacuum reservoir. Functionally it probable doesn't matter, except the hose that was suppose to lead back to the reservoir was broken in two and didn't connect to anything. I'm not sure what effect that had on the engine. If you do please educate me. Perhaps nothing but a small vacuum leak since it's part of the air injection system.
If someone has a photo of how it's suppose to connect please post!
It's connected to the Tee off the purge valve right above the alternator. Also looks like your valve is inserted in the wrong direction. The black part should be closer to the intake. IMAG1596 (Large).jpg
Thanks for the pic. Mine doesn't seem to be routed the same way. The hose went back to a wye at the base of the reservoir but was broken about halfway. It may not matter if the vacuum source is the same at each connector. I need to take the diagram and trace the routing out for each connection. Tomorrow...
