Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did a search but couldn't find the same symptom as mine listed. Parked my car a week or so ago, no problems. Just went to get in and as I pulled the drivers door open it didn't drop the 1/4" or so amount to clear the roof. The window seems frozen (pushing on it a little or pulling doesn't move it at all), I can't move it up or down. When I hit the window switch either up or down I can hear the 'click' each time I press it. Sound seems to be coming from the door but might be from the fuse box in the foot well, I'll go investigate some more. Is there a fuse or relay I can check for this? the passenger window works fine. Or is it likely my regulator is dead? thanks

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I should go buy a lotto ticket now. Seems the very damp air here due to the endless rain (don't have a fully sealed garage) plus old age and the battery not being fully charged stalled the motor? after driving a while it freed up and works now. I guess it might happen again? any way to lube the window mech without full teardown?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So tried my window again and it's stuck fast, obviously the motor was on its way out. I'm looking around for a replacement, but one question i had. The window motors are named 'right' and 'left' rather than driver and passenger. I require the drivers side, is this right or left? thanks
