Hi, all, I just got my first 996-- an 02 C2 with 6300 miles, and I have to say I'm enjoying every minute of it! I have a question, though: does the engine have an oil cooler on it, and is oil temperature ever a concern (track days, auto-x, or hot weather)? It appears there isn't an oil temp gauge, unlike an M coupe I used to have. On that car, oil temp was more of a concern than coolant temp. I know the 996 3.6l engine is much different than the M engine, but I'm just concerned about oil temps. I read Loren's DIY about the third radiator for coolant, but is there any concern about the oil? Thanks, all-- Geoff.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
