Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The man loses his car to IMS bearing failure and you think its funny? What am I missing here? "Never laughed so hard in my life"??? I'm beginning to think you watched the movie JOKER one too many times.

POST 5Original post

I was laughing at the cinematic presentation of the trailer only. I didnt know what it was about until the last second.

POST 6Original post

I guess this means we have to join the Rennvision YouTube channel to watch the interview.

I had very strong "show us on the doll where the IMSB touched you" vibes, too.

POST 8Original post

I have great respect for what FSI and Jake Raby do, but that's beneath them.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Beneath what? We interviewed the prior owner of the car and the story is super informative. In the mean time the editor decided to make this trailer. Not sure how this isnt living up to expectations. We are having fun with the build, and car, and the prior owner is fine with all of it.

Am I the only one that can view the YouTube still frame in the post that states, "An exclusive interview with Peter Sayeski"? I'll admit, I didn't find the trailer laughable, but it did have impact on the subject maybe in a sardonic way?.... playing off the whole IMS "we [Porsche] didn't do nothing wrong" class action settlement? Porsche did a pretty good job keeping their dealership employees oblivious to the problem. Everyone I asked looked at me like I had three heads. Only one guy admitted awareness, but "couldn't" talk officially on the subject. Ugh. I'm going to enjoy listening to this man's experience.

No, the content for the "Focus on IMS Bearing Failure" series will stay on YouTube until the project car is completed with it's FSI "R40" 4 liter Stage II engine, and sold on Bring A Trailer. Then the content will be reserved for Rennvision Members exclusively. FYI- The whole secret plot to the trailer goes along with the owner's experiences with the car. He had no idea what an IMS was, that it had a bearing, or anything. He is a classic original owner(first purchaser) that comes our way, they don't have a clue until something breaks. Wait till you hear his story... It's 2 hours of content, nothing planned, or scripted. Just a retired southern gentleman who bought the car as his retirement present to himself 17 years ago, since he "always wanted a 911". BTW- The Rennvision videos were capturing tens of thousands of views (some well over 150,000) and YouTube noticed that our Subscriber to views ratio was way off. This is due to the majority of our followers being mature, and not having a YouTube account. YouTube offered the membership option to the channel so Members could sign on for content, and help monetize the channel for the efforts. Before doing this, the channel netted less than 100.00 in royalties for the entire year, since views were high, and subs were low. The channel has to be self sufficient, and doing videos at this level isn't cheap. The membership program is helping a lot, and members have access to a lot more than just these videos, with more in the works.

I enjoyed it. Very well done! The interview is a great idea!

The interview with Pete Sayeski is planned to go live on YouTube Friday 28th at 1PM ET. For those not aware, Pete is the original owner of a 2003 Porsche 996 that experienced IMS bearing failure. He did everything by factory guidelines for servicing and maintaining the car and was never made aware of the IMS bearing problem and subsequent class action settlement. We're calling the video " For Pete's Sake ". I think you'll enjoy hearing his first hand experience with this 996. Here is the link for the Premiere: You Tube

I thought the promo was well done in an over the top, tongue in cheek kind of way. I make trailers for my vacation movies the same way.

Not quite the same thing. I agree, this was presented in kinda poor taste, but hey, fear sells!

POST 17Original post

Thanks Jake. I'm sure anyone who watched will learn smemthing, or at least be entertainned. As someone coming from a marketing and enteratinment background, the teaser seems fine to me. Caught my attention - I'm intrigued and plan on watching.

POST 18Original post

People need to lighten up. Life is complicated enough without getting your knickers in a twist about something like this.

Hi, JBSL, This is Bobby - Lead Producer for Rennvision. Jake told me to have a little fun with it and that's what I did. Maybe next time I shouldn't create a trailer on such a sensitive subject while in quarantine with COVID-19. I hope you enjoy the interview in spite of the opening title sequence. It was an honor to meet and hear Pete's story. FYI - the segment with the tank smashing engine parts was totally Jake's idea.

POST 20Original post

Nice production values but I'm not sure what I saw. What's the point of the ad? Buy an IMS upgrade kit? If so, I didn't get that from wathcing the 1 min video.

The point is the watch Pete's interview and hear the details of his 17 year story with his 996. Its not all bad, in fact, none of it is bad... Just informative.

POST 23Original post

As an owner of a 17 old car from new, Pete's cost when spread over the time of ownership is around $1200 -$1500/year. Of course this is in addition to whatever else he spent on maintenance over that time. Even so, he seems to love the car enough to go for the extra $25k (probably more) or so on the new engine - I'm sure he's going to love it!

POST 24Original post

Why the hell is someone so bent out of shape over this? Have fun and enjoy what you do!
