I have an 03 996 that when unlocked with the remote, retains a stored seat and mirror position (all the way back) that cannot be changed or erased. I have read all the posts and tried everything. The seat memory buttons program just fine but the position programmed into the key (I only have one) is stuck. One poster said to unlock the car, open the door and hit the remote again. This works except that during the time between unlocking and opening the door the seat still moves a bit and has to be moved back. A workaround that I found is to hold the outside door handle in the open position when you hit the unlock on the remote. Car unlocks and the seat does not move. Hope this helps someone with a similar problem and I hope this wasn't buried somewhere in the things you didn't know sticky, because I sure could have used this tip...

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
