My brother in law, his buddy and me took a little drive last weekend. A few pics attached. I was driving the 997 GT3 which belongs to my brother in law. He is also the owner of the gray F430. Needless to say they are amazing cars, and I am glad i get to drive them just about anytime I want.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

how would you compare the GT3 to your 996?
Not to dog out my 996, but there is very little comparison. I love my car, but it is not in the same league honestly.
Daaammmnnn!!!!
never drove a GT3, but the F430 is the best car I've ever driven.
must be nice..........
I'd agree with that too. The F430 with F1 tranny is something other wordly. I could not stop smiling the entire time i was behind the wheel of it. I am not a good enough driver to really get the most from the GT3, but it seems in the 430 you do not have to be. The car seemingly can make anyone a great driver!
Damn! I'm jealous! Great cars! Next time you guys go for a drive take a left and head out here to Arizona.
Very nice shots. I love the GT3, what a beautiful car. The F430 is definitely nice as well.
Ill join a ride in the AZ. Ill take the gt3 and you can drive mine!
Honestly, some people just don't think about others before going out for a day. Have you ever thought of posting to the locals and seeing if maybe, just maybe....we may want to come out and play too?! I may be just a simple 03 Targa with a base motor but it wouldn't kill you to think of other locals that would want to come out and drive. Sheesh!!!
Very nice cars...must have been really fun!
Sorry man! It was kind of a spur of the moment thing where we just decided to take off. I too have a stock 996. Luckily I got to borrow the GT3 so I could "keep up". I still couldn't really keep up off the line. It takes the GT3 a bit to get going while the F430 is like a rocket from about 1k rpm all the way to the redline. The GT3 really starts to get going about 5500 rpm. The GT3 is the tightest handling and perhaps the most overall fun to drive, and would be ever more so if I was a better driver. I really think you need to have a lot of track miles and a great deal of driver education. That is not to take anything away from the GT3 because I think that is the sole intent of the car. It is awesome in every way, and by far my favorite Porsche. It is just a different breed than the F430. The F430 wins for me because it is much easier for a novice like me to drive it well. I don't think anyone can claim one to be necessarily "better" than the other. They are different, magnificant and fun all in their own way. I am just glad BIL is kind enough to share them with me so I can experience them.
Your brother in law has good taste in cars, or at least taste similar to mine, which makes it good taste in my view. Must not be his first Ferrari, because how could your first Ferrari not be red?
I actually think he just much prefers this color or black over red. I am the same. That car gets enough attention as it is! Everywhere we go in that thing everyone stares and gets their camera phones out.
looks like fun.....thanks for sharing....
