What should I be on the look out for before purchasing a 2000 C4 Cabriolet, 6 speed, 38,000 miles. From first glance and drive, car appeared to be in excellent mech and aesthetic condition. Going back on Saturday. Asking price on car is $52k, at a local dealer. What is a reasonable number I may be able to get them down to? KBB and Edmunds both point to about that number, but I don't know how accurate their listings are with Porsches.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

There are many factors that affect the sale price of a car: the car's condition, the area of the country you are in, options and mileage, etc. In my area convertibles are selling at a premium at the present time and $52K for a C4 convertible in excellent condition would be right in the ball park provided that the car was Porsche certified.
