Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can someone point me to where the phone harness is behind the center console? What does it look like, and what steps are needed to access it? While I can find many references to it as part of various projects, I haven't been able to find a tutorial on getting to it.

POST 2Original post

IN my experience, when I took off the plastic side panel in the driver's footwell (by pulling out and back on the forward edge), just ahead of the shifter and next to the AC controls, the black four pin phone connector was sitting right there with four wires going into it, and none coming out. It has ground, switched power, constant power, and phone mute (?). I tapped into it for my oil temp gage. Hope this helps. Others have said that once the panel was off, they had to fish around on the carpeted hump to findd it, but mine ws in plain sight.
