Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As I am new to 996, so I am examining my 996.1, and there is no any kind of protection under the engine, am I missing something or that is normal? I am comparing that with my BMW Z4 E85 (2003. model) and under the engine there is full plastic cover, you can't see anything of the engine under the car, and under my 996.1 everything is there, on the open.

POST 2Original post

Yes that’s correct, it should however have plastic under trays from the engine through to the front. The engine is open to allow for better cooling.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Aha, ok, thank you gentleman, then everything is ok. I was scared that something was bad with the car.

POST 5Original post

There are lots of things bad with the car, you just need more time

Hahahaha, well, seems to me that 23 years old BMW spoiled me, and I thought that was a bad decision.
