At present I route the frunk release cable through the hole for the tow hook so I can easily reach it just under the plastic cover if I need to open the frunk when the battery is dead. I secure the loose end of the release cable with safety wire so it doesn't flop around and get hard to reach when I need it. If I put a front license plate bracket into that tow hook hole I will need to find a new routing for the frunk cable release. Any suggestions?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Rare circumstance to need so wouldn't over "solve" problem... From factory my 997 had rear emergency release's braided wire simply taped down to bumper cover under taillight pod. If needed, you simply would slide something in to fish a bit and grab hook. Took that idea and did similar w my 986. With small piece of gaffer tape I reached in and secured to front bumper support just adjacent to tow hook hole (need hook for HPDEs) - wire secure but loop loose and could easily see peaking in. Then if needed you can quickly un-spin plate holder, stick finger thru cover, grab loop and give good yank to open frunk. Good luck
